President’s Message- March 2011
As we start to get a little glimmer of hope that spring is actually on its way, I hope that it finds each of you well! Weekend show season is in full swing, and I encourage you to head to Farmington, Utah for the ICHA-approved weekend show produced by UCHA on March 4 & 5.
ICHA is very excited about our 2nd Annual ICHA Spring Aged Event, which will be held March 16th, 17th and 18th at the Idaho Horse Park in Nampa, Idaho. We will again be having three separate Aged Event shows like we did last year- one each day- with $6,000 Added in Each Show ($2,000 each in 5/6 Open & Derby Open, and $1,000 each in 5/6 Non-Pro & Derby Non-Pro)! We had a lot of positive feedback on this change in structure, and we are excited offer it again this year. We hope to see many of you there to join us.
In conjunction with the Spring Aged Event, we will be having our ICHA Spring Weekend Show on March 19th and 20th. It will be 2 shows over 2 days with $2,500 Added in each show. We will also be having Youth Scholarship Cuttings both days. The weekend show has been approved by NCHA, BoiseValleyCHA, MontanaCHA and UtahCHA and we are very appreciative of their support!
In addition to 5 days of cutting, we also have lots of extra activities and entertainment planned during the show, and would love to have you join us for those as well. Our ICHA/UCHA Youth Scholarship Auction will be held Wednesday, March 16th through Saturday, March 19th . Our Trainer’s Dinner & Fashion Show will be held on Friday night, March 18th, and a portion of the Fashion Show proceeds will benefit the Ride For Joy program—and there will also be many “special guest appearances” that evening that you won’t want to miss! Saturday, March 19th, the ICHA is excited and proud to team up with our partner, Gold Buckle Champion, as they present the “Legends in the Making” program. The entire day will be filled with educational clinics, shopping, a BBQ to benefit the Nampa Fire Fighter’s Burn Out program, and much more.
See you all in Nampa,
