ICHA President’s Message- January 2008

Hello Cutters,

Happy New Year!

Congratulations to all of the finalists and winners of the November UCHA Marker Ltd Futurity & Aged Event! It was great to see so many of you there. I hope that everyone had a great holiday season and is now ready to get going on a great 2008!

Another great show season is upon us– ICHA will again be teaming up this year with UCHA on the Mountain West Champion Series. Please join us for the first show of the season, and of that series, which will be held January 24-26, 2008 in Hurricane, Utah.

This is a fun show to attend, and a great opportunity to get out of the cold!

Please also mark your calendars for the first ICHA produced show of the season, which will be held at the Idaho Horse Park in Nampa, Idaho on April 4–6, 2008. There will be more information to come about that show, so stay tuned to future issues of the Cascade Horseman and to our website at www.idahocha.com

Remember that ICHA 2008 membership dues are payable January 1, 2008. Both the rider and the owner of a horse must be a current ICHA member at the time of showing in order for earnings to count toward year-end awards and Western Nationals standings. The ICHA membership form is available in the Cascade Horseman, and on our website, and it is completely interactive, so you can fill it out online, and then just print down the completed copy and mail it in with your dues.

The ICHA’s primary goals this year are to put on quality shows, increase our membership, and support venues that provide an opportunity for you to show your horses and to make new friends. We all have a passion for this sport, and I have heard many people say “let’s put the fun back into cutting”. With that in mind, I invite everyone to come to the shows, visit with each other, and find opportunities to socialize!

Looking forward to a great season,
Susan Fullen
